Mumbai : After former Editor-in-Chief of CNN IBN Rajdeep Sardesai joined the India Today group as Consulting Editor, another long-time editorial senior staffer at CNN-IBN has crossed over to Headlines Today.
Vinay Tewari who was the Managing Editor of CNN-IBN for nine years has joined the India Today group. He will take over as Managing Editor of Headlines Today from Wednesday, and will report Ms. Kalli Purie, Creative Director, TV and New Media and daughter of Aroon Purie.
An internal email communication in Headlines Today says, “We are delighted to share the appointment of Vinay Tewari, as Managing Editor of Headlines Today. Vinay will join us on Wednesday, October 1st , and report to Ms. Kalli Purie, Creative Director, TV and New Media. This is homecoming for Vinay. He was with Aaj Tak, in its initial years from 2002-2005, as Metro Editor and Senior Producer.”
Vinay Tewari, a journalist with over 20 years of experience, was previously the Managing Editor of CNN-IBN, he also started to oversee the Hindi News channel, IBN7, from January 2014. Prior to CNN-IBN, Vinay worked with Bennett & Coleman in New Delhi and with The Pioneer in Lucknow. Vinay Tewari left Network 18 in August this year.
Journalist Rahul Kanwal, the Managing Editor of the TV Today group (both Headlines Today and Aaj Tak) will continue in his present role say sources.
