Mumbai: WAVES Originals is set to release its latest Hindi feature film, Della Bella: Badlegi Kahaani, on July 18, 2025. The film is a heartfelt and powerful coming-of-age tale that explores love, identity, and the courage to remain authentic in a world full of expectations.
Set in the fictional town of Mohabbatganj, the story follows Dellu—nicknamed “Della Bella” in her coaching class—as she navigates life beyond her small-town upbringing. As Dellu enters a new phase of self-discovery, her friendship with a classmate, Shanky, pushes her to question conformity and explore her individuality.
“This film is not just a love story,” says writer-director Neelesh K Jain, “It’s about the emotional terrain before love fully takes form—when a young woman’s voice begins to rise above societal expectations.”
Marking the big-screen debut of Aashima Vardhan Jain in the titular role, the film features a diverse ensemble cast including Ali Asgar, Kavita Kaushik, Govind Namdev, Akhilendra Mishra, and Ritik Ghanshani. The layered narrative is supported by evocative music composed by Raaj Aashoo, with vocals by Shaan, Hamsika Iyer, Seepi Jha, Swati Sharma, and Raaj Aashoo, and choreography by Mudassar Khan. The story is by Sanya Jain, with screenplay by Roop Agarwal and Yashassvi Neeraj Tripathi.

At its core, Della Bella is a call to action for young people to embrace their truth, define love on their own terms, and discover strength in their individuality.
