Mumbai: JioStar has announced the appointment of Bhaskar Ramesh as Head of Entertainment Sales, Digital, marking a strategic move to strengthen its digital monetisation and advertising capabilities. Bhaskar joins the company from Google, where he most recently served as Director – Omnichannel Businesses and was a core member of the India leadership team.
In his previous role, Bhaskar led strategic partnerships across sectors including Technology, Retail, Finance, Consumer Packaged Goods, and Automotive. He also played a key role in driving digital transformation across both traditional and digital channels.
At JioStar, Bhaskar will report to Kevin Vaz, CEO, Entertainment, and will be responsible for building a modern, data-led advertising ecosystem. His mandate includes delivering measurable outcomes for brands, unlocking new revenue streams, strengthening advertiser partnerships, and aligning content, technology, and sales into a unified commercial framework.

“I believe that the future of streaming will be built as much on smart monetization as on engaging content. It was important for us to identify a leader who understands how data, technology and creativity come together to deliver perceptible outcomes for our partners. With the strong digital expertise that he brings to bear, I am confident that Bhaskar will add tremendous value to the business,” said Kevin Vaz, CEO, Entertainment, JioStar.
During his tenure at Google, Bhaskar played an instrumental role in shaping YouTube India’s business growth. He led monetization and product strategy, helping scale the platform into a multi-billion dollar business while addressing critical ecosystem challenges across planning, pricing, and measurement. He has also worked closely with India’s leading brands, advising CXOs on digital growth and transformation, and has represented India on multiple global strategy forums.
Before Google, Bhaskar built extensive experience across the CPG and Media & Entertainment sectors, handling P&L, brand building, operations, and business development at organisations such as Godrej, Marico, and Reliance Broadcast Network. He holds a post-graduate diploma in Management from the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research.
