Mumbai: Billboard India, launched in partnership with Other Side Ventures Pvt. Ltd., has announced the appointment of Preeti Nayyar as Chief Operating Officer (COO), strengthening its leadership team as it accelerates growth and expands its presence in India’s evolving music ecosystem.
A seasoned media and entertainment executive with more than 25 years of experience across print, radio, television, movie marketing, and the music industry, Nayyar will lead Billboard India’s operational growth and business expansion strategy.
In her new role, Nayyar will oversee business operations, P&L management, revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and industry relations. She will also play a key role in positioning Billboard India as a platform connecting artists, fans, brands, and industry stakeholders while driving the next phase of growth for the global music brand in one of the world’s fastest-growing music markets.
Nayyar joins Billboard India with leadership experience across globally recognised media and entertainment organisations including Universal Music Group, Disney, Radio Mirchi, and India Today Group. Most recently, she spent nearly nine years building and scaling UMG For Brands, Universal Music Group’s culture and music marketing division, across India and Asia, creating partnerships at the intersection of artists, culture, music, and brands.
Her appointment comes at a significant phase for Billboard India, which recently entered the Indian market with the objective of documenting, celebrating, and amplifying the diversity of Indian music across languages, genres, and regions. Through editorial coverage, charts, lists, awards, live experiences, and industry initiatives, the platform aims to create greater visibility for Indian artists while contributing to the broader music ecosystem.
