COLORS launches ‘Rang, Na Kar Berang’ campaign to promote a conscious and respectful Holi
Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: COLORS has launched its impactful Holi campaign, ‘Rang, Na Kar Berang’. Through this initiative, COLORS urges people to celebrate Holi with joy, respect, and responsibility, ensuring the festival remains a symbol of unity rather than fear.

While Holi is meant to bring people together, some negative practices—such as harassment under the pretext of festivities, excessive water wastage, reckless drinking, and plastic pollution—diminish its true spirit. ‘Rang, Na Kar Berang’ shines a light on these issues, particularly the way Holi celebrations can become traumatic for women due to non-consensual behavior disguised as festive enthusiasm. The campaign’s powerful video sends a clear message, urging men to respect boundaries and for society to embrace a Holi of kindness and dignity.

Speaking about this initiative, a COLORS spokesperson shared, “At COLORS, we’ve always believed that entertainment holds the power to shape mindsets and ignite change. Holi, a festival that symbolizes joy, unity, and breaking barriers, loses its essence when clouded by misbehaviour or harm. Through our campaign ‘Rang, Na Kar Berang,’ we are reminding everyone that no celebration is worth compromising someone’s dignity, safety, or well-being. Let’s keep Holi vibrant for the right reasons—with love, laughter, and responsibility. This is COLORS’ heartfelt appeal to ensure that the festival of colors remains a celebration of the triumph of good over evil.”

Ayesha Singh, who portrays Mannat on COLORS’ ‘Mannat’ expressed, “As an actor, I’ve often seen Holi sequences in TV shows where the celebration feels larger than life—but what makes those moments special is that they’re joyful and respectful. COLORS’ ‘Rang, Na Kar Berang’ campaign hits home because it reminds us that real-life Holi should be just like that—full of colour, laughter, and love, but never at the cost of someone’s safety or dignity. But while we drench ourselves in joy, let’s remember that ‘no’ always means ‘no’ —whether it’s about colours or consent. Celebrate with love, not force. Soak in the music, eat all the mithai you crave, but remember—Holi should leave people smiling, not scarred. Wishing you all a Holi that’s safe, joyful, and bursting with cherished memories!”

Neil Bhatt, playing Arjun in COLORS’ ‘Megha Barsenge’ reflected, “Holi has always been that magical day when the world feels brighter. I remember that as a kid, my excitement would begin days in advance—gathering colours, plotting playful surprises, and eagerly waiting to splash colours on my friends. While we soak ourselves in the festivities, there’s something else I want to emphasize—let’s celebrate a green Holi. Please choose eco-friendly colours, conserve water, and keep our surroundings clean. And while we’re at it, let’s be green flags as citizens too looking out for one another, respecting boundaries, and ensuring everyone feels safe. The best celebrations are those that uplift, unite, and spread smiles. Let’s play Holi in a way that leaves behind nothing but happy memories.”

Sreejita De, who brings Rajnandini to life on COLORS’ ‘Doree,‘ shared, “Holi, for me, has always been a celebration woven with memories of tradition, family, and cultural roots. Growing up, Holi meant spending time with family and friends, the fragrance of gulaal, and gorging on delicious treats. But over the years, I’ve also seen people dampening the beauty of the festival—with animals being tormented and women facing harassment under the ruse of celebration. With COLORS’ ‘Rang, Na Kar Berang,’ I stand alongside this powerful message that the festival is about spreading cheer and not terror. Let’s take a stand against these wrongs and reclaim the true meaning of Holi. Wishing you all a Holi that’s bright, beautiful, and brimming with positivity.”
