Digital Advertising witnesses more than two-fold spike during Jan-Mar’22: TAM Report

According to TAM AdEx-Report on Digital Advertising, ad insertions surged by 2.3 times during Jan-Mar’22 compared to Jan-Mar’21. It witnessed a more than two-fold spike.

In the Leading Sectors category, Services topped the chart with 46 pc share of Ad Insertions followed by Education with 12 pc share during Jan-Mar’22. The Top two sectors together added more than 55 pc share of Ad Insertions on Digital. Building, Industrial & Land Materials/Equipments and Personal Accessories were the new entrants in Top 10 sectors list. 

Education and Computers sectors observed positive rank shift. Building, Industrial & Land Materials/Equipments sector moved up by 7 positions to enter the Top 10.

Among the Leading categories, Software topped the chart during Jan-Mar’22. Ecom-Financial Services was the new entrant. 

Top 10 categories added 47 pc share of Digital Ad Insertions. Seven out of Top 10 categories were from Services sector.

Among the Top Advertisers, Amazon Online India topped the chart followed by Grammarly Inc at the second position. Visymo.com climbed to 4th place in Jan-Mar’22, a significant jump from Jan-Mar’21. Top 10 Advertisers contributed 14 pc share of Ad Insertions in Digital. Nine among the Top 10 Advertisers were new entrants in Jan-Mar’22. 

In the Top Brands category, Grammarly Keyboard was the most advertised Digital brand followed by Amazon.in. There were total 49 K+ brands present on Digital during Jan-Mar’22. Top 10 Brands contributed 12 pc share of Digital Ad Insertions. Six of the Top 10 brands were from Services sector.

350+ Categories registered Positive Growth in the Top Growing Categories. Software had the biggest rise in Ad Insertions among the growing categories followed by Ecom-Other Services during Jan-Mar’22 compared to Jan-Mar’21. 

In terms of growth pc, Ecom-Financial Services category witnessed highest growth pc among the Top 10 (8.3 Times). Six of Top 10 growing categories belonged to Ecom sector. 

In the Leading Exclusive Advertisers and Brands category, 30K+ Advertisers & 37K+ Brands exclusively advertised during Jan-Mar’22 compared to Jan-Mar’21. 

Ola Cars ranked first among Exclusive Advertisers and Brands in Jan-Mar’22. Six of the Top 10 Exclusive Brands belonged to Services sector.

Among the Leading Web Publishers, excluding YouTube, Rediff.com maintained its position in terms of advertising during Jan-Mar’22 compared to Jan-Mar’21. 

YouTube alone had 23% share of Ad Insertions.

Leading Digital Platforms and Transaction Methods for Digital Advertising during Jan-Mar’22 showed Desktop Display leading with almost half of Digital Ad Insertions followed by Mobile Display on second position with 30 pc share. 

Ad Network was the most popular method for promoting Ads on Digital platforms, accounting to 59 pc of total Ad Insertions followed by Programmatic method with 24 pc share.

In Creative types on Digital, HTML5 ads grabbed highest Insertions with 45 pc share followed by Banner with 32 pc share. Video stood at 3rd position accounting to 22 pc share during Jan-Mar’22.
